Thousands of Osseo Middle School students can expect to get new Chromebooks to use for the upcoming school year.
“Our digital learning plan is really focused in three areas which we call path, place and pace,” said Anthony Padrnos, executive director of technology with the Osseo School District. “We found that a Chromebook was best suited to meet those needs.”
The Osseo Area School District started trading iPads for Chromebooks last year at the high school level, which had 7,500 devices.
This year, Osseo Middle School students will receive 5,800 Chromebooks. The technology team took five days to unbox the devices and make sure the software was up to date.
“I’m very excited for where things are going in our district, in particular with our revised digital learning plan with a new focus and emphasize on instruction and learning and learning,” said Padrnos.
Teachers will be training on the new devices throughout August. School starts Sept. 3.
